We meet on the 4th Friday of each month at Café 50 and here are a few of the Book Group having a lively discussion on our latest read.

We currently have 22 members of the group with usually two thirds present at a meeting. We take it in turns to offer a few titles for our next read. As there are a good number of us this isn’t too much of a burden for any one member.

We sometimes choose a read that results in everyone enjoying it, but the best discussions are over a ‘marmite’ book that really divides us.

Recent choices have included The Blackwater Lightship by Colm Toibin and The Fraud by Zadie Smith. Twice a year we add a ‘classic’ to take us over the Christmas period and the August break.
